A Proven History of Cutting-Edge Technology
Since 2019, we have been offering commercial remote survey services using our NavView systems offshore, which are connected to NavView stations onshore. Before launching this service, we spent several years developing the technology to synchronize the files and databases used by NavView over satellite links. The technology is made up of components that can be integrated to form a comprehensive ecosystem for monitoring and controlling offshore operations.

A Multi-Component System
Our technology consists of several components that can be provided individually or as an integrated system. The offshore component includes a network of NavView systems configured with a master that can be operated by a surveyor, whether in person or remotely, along with smart remotes connected to the master on each vessel. A sophisticated protocol ensures they remain in sync. It allows position and background data to be displayed with custom layouts tailored for users such as bridge personnel, ROV personnel, project teams, and clients. If a smart remote has sufficient privileges, data and instructions can be entered on it and shared with the other computers on the network. The master system can be securely networked to a NavView system onshore using our proprietary ROCS (Remote Operations Control System) unit and communication protocol.
Enhancing Your Telepresence
The onshore component includes NavView systems linked to the master NavView systems on vessels, a video server, a web server, and an application called NavScape. NavScape offers an access portal for vessel video and a map-centric display replicating a smart remote found on a vessel.

Video Management
Video from ROVs and other locations on a vessel is also a crucial component in offshore operations, and our system enables video to be displayed, annotated, recorded, and distributed. Our proprietary ROCS unit can digitize up to four video channels, transmitting the streams to our recording and annotation system while compressing them for efficient transmission to our onshore video server.

Communication is Essential
Effective communication is vital for any project. We have partnered with the industry-leading supplier Clear-Com to deliver reliable and clear voice communications from the vessel system to onshore installations, including VHF radios used by personnel on deck. Access is provided through an app running on a computer. If a vessel has a digital Clear-Com system, we can program access to different stations on various vessels using a Clear-Com matrix switch located onshore.
By combining voice with our video capabilities, we offer a more immersive experience for the operator.

Secure Connections
Offshore systems connect our NavView, video, and voice servers to onshore systems through secure 64-bit encrypted connections. These servers are designed to safeguard a client’s data from unauthorized access. The NavView and Video servers link to our web server, establishing a framework for implementing security and access controls. The web server facilitates the configuration of a firewalled portal for a client, which is further segmented into projects. Additionally, it organizes vessels into fleets, allowing for easy transitions from one project to another.

A Scalable Solution
Our simplest configuration is a ROCS unit with offshore video feeds connected to our video server, accessible through our NavScape web app. When multiple vessels are equipped with ROCS units, they can be viewed in the same NavScape app. Adding our PTSS control box enables the recording and retrieval of high-resolution video data onboard the vessel, while our NavScape web application allows segments to be transmitted onshore and viewed in full resolution.

Simplifying Complex Projects
The next level of our technology is the ability to aggregate multiple vessels and projects through NavScape. This allows for more efficient use of resources as multiple tasks can be performed at the same time. Our web server synchronizes its database with several NavView stations, presenting a comprehensive view of operations being conducted by vessels involved in a project via NavScape’s map. The NavScape map view is designed for non-survey project personnel and mimics a smart remote used on a vessel, eliminating the need for NavView installation on a computer. This expands access to detailed situational awareness for a wider audience.

NavScape – A user-friendly web application
By integrating all our components into a single application, NavScape ensures the safe and efficient execution of your project. Our map display in NavScape offers exceptional performance, enabling users to interact with operations in detail. The requirement for a high-performance or dedicated computer is now outdated. With NavScape, users can achieve the same high performance on a lower-end computer without compromising quality.
